Alan and I have a received a lot of great feedback on the Rails/Django Comparison, and based on that we've made a number of revisions since the original publication. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback, especially the folks on the Ruby on Rails Australian (RoRA) mailing list for providing feedback on the Rails portion, it's a humbling experience to get feedback from a bunch of smart developers. A big thanks as well to my bro, Simon Rumble for copy editing the paper - neither Alan nor I are writers by trade so his attention to detail was invaluable.
Luciano Ramalho has written a very balanced summary of the paper over at at InfoQ and there's some discussion taking shape in the comments. Let's hope it stays free from the bias and zealotry that tend to accompany such comparisons.
If you can make it to OSDC, where we'll be presenting the paper, please do come along to our session. We hope to make the presentation fun and informative for you, even if you've read the paper beforehand.
The monthly RoRA meetup has been pulled forward a couple of weeks to coincide with the visit of Geoffrey Grosenbach (topfunky.com, nubyonrails.com). Read on for details:

Alan Green and I are presenting a paper at OSDC in December. The paper pits Rails against Django in a databased-backed web application battle to the death (not really... but it sounds exciting doesn't it?). We've published the paper using Google Docs and are requesting your feedback. Read on and send feedback to Alan or I using the email addresses published at the end of the document.
Thanks in advance.
Ok, so it's been at least two months since I've blogged, and it's about time I started again. Here's a quick update to whet your appetite, then it'll be back to regular postings in the next week or so.
So in 25 words or less, what have I been up to?
I'm self-employed, working with Rails full time, growing a mo' for charity, presenting at OSDC, posting regularly on Flickr, and putting on weight.
That's 25 words... more to follow.
